Senior Embedded Engineer with Security Clearance
A leading aerospace company in Maryland is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to lead and manage a team responsible for a Group-3 UAV avionics and payload integrations, including both electrical systems and software development, through the complete system development life-cycle in a multidisciplinary aerospace environment.

Duties/
Responsibilities:
o Design/Implement automated testing suite for physical devices using locally hosted hardware such as motor/servo controllers and virtual serial port servers.
o Lead quality assurance activities related to electrical and software (Firmware & applications) at both the harness and the PCB design level o Manage a team of electrical and software engineers, managing the task list with work assignments, performing technical reviews, and leading new technical developments.
o Analyze, decompose, translate, and create requirements for avionics changes and new payload integration within an existing system of moderate to high complexityo Review technical problems; provide solutions for software, hardware, and systems; troubleshoot operating anomalies with emphasis on electronics and software.
o Develop and document functional, interface, and performance specifications for hardware and software implementation.
Identify and document architecturally significant requirements and technical risk areas.
o Manage documentation of technical designs, user training, and operation manuals.
o Lead technical proposal preparation and serve as the subject matter expert in non-advocate, internal, and customer reviews.
Support elaboration of systems activities development plans in the context of a team and with program execution, including customization of systems development processes.
o Serve in a design quality role (systems) helping to ensure that project planning is accomplished to the appropriate level of fidelity and ensure that development teams are following appropriate processes.
o Maintain awareness of technology within the domain or system and develop technology strategies for the domain or system.
Provide inputs to technical & product roadmaps.
o Draft and review Interim and Permanent Flight Clearances for the integration of respective avionics or payloads.
o Lead requirements analysis and design / code reviews.
o Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
o Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
o Experience automating common tasks with GitHub Actions and/or Ansibleo Experience with automated metric collection tools such as Prometheus, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar.
o Extensive experience working in software development for mission critical systemso Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with Python, C, C++, C#, Arduino, or similar microcontroller languageso A technical understanding of aircraft flight controls and hands-on experience writing autopilot code and hands-on experience flying model aircrafto Accurate and precise attention to detail with creative and innovative thinking and planningo Must be a team player with great communication skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficientlyo Experience contributing to the flight clearance and/or safety review processo Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with strong software development backgroundo 4
